Refund & Cancellation Policy

How to cancel, what comes back, and the statutory rights that apply on top.

Version 1 · Effective from

Cancelling a hosting subscription

You can cancel from your dashboard at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and the server keeps running until then. We do not require a reason and there is no retention process.

New server refunds

A new hosting subscription can be refunded in full within 7 days of the first payment, provided the server has not been used beyond initial setup. "Used beyond initial setup" means running a production workload or consuming a material share of the transfer allowance.

This applies once per customer. It is intended to let you find out whether the service suits you, not to provide a recurring free week.

Statutory withdrawal rights

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days.

At checkout you are asked to confirm that you want the service to begin immediately and that you understand you lose that right once the server has been provisioned. If you did not give that confirmation, your statutory right applies in full regardless of anything else in this policy.

You can exercise the withdrawal right from your dashboard using the cancellation control on the subscription. You do not need to email us, and we will not ask why.

Professional services

Service engagements are billed for work already performed and are not refundable retrospectively. You can stop a retainer at any time with 30 days' notice, and the following period is not charged.

If we have not started work on an engagement you have paid for, it is refundable in full.

When no refund is due

  • A subscription cancelled part way through a paid period — service continues to the end of that period instead.
  • A server suspended or terminated for a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • A renewal you did not intend but did not cancel, where the server was in use during the renewed period.
  • Add-ons consumed during the period, such as backup storage already used.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method. Card refunds typically appear within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank, which is outside our control.

We cannot refund to a different card or account than the one payment came from.

If you think a charge is wrong

Contact support@fdosoftware.com before raising a dispute with your bank. We keep your subscription history, the invoices, and the provisioning record, and we will share the relevant ones with you. Most billing disputes turn out to be a renewal that was not expected, and we would rather resolve that directly.
